Peru Charity Walk
Reekie Group were delighted to sponsor Laura Marshall to take part in a challenging trek in Peru. Laura is the daughter of John Marshall, Pitkierie, Anstruther.
Laura undertook her challenge of a lifetime to raise money for Breast Cancer to help continue the research for a cure.
The trip included a arduous 4 day trek on the Incal Trail, walking 7-8 hours a day at altitudes of around 4000m. Laura trained for four months, but was still not prepared for the effects of walking at high altitude. Some members unable to complete the route. The reward for Laura was the stunning sight of Machu Picchu.
Laura raised £4000 for the charity, she was overwhelmed by the support from many supporting organisations and friends. The money is curremtly helping fund a three year project at Dundee University.
