In gale force winds gusting up to 45 mph 3 Reekie employees, Grant Purves, Ian Burns (Coldstream) and Alan Ramsay (Lothian) took part in a charity run for Cancer Research. Adam Johnston (Lothian) provided support to them and15 other riders. Two routes were available. Ian and Grant started the 75mile which took them from Eyemouth via Chirnside , Coldstream , Wooler , Paxton and back to Eyemouth. Ian completed the course in around 6 hrs while Grant suffered a fall two weeks ago was still sore from his accident managed a good 45 miles.
Alan completed the 130 miles route which followed the shorter route to Yetholm heading across a very windy route over the Cheviots to the A68 were they climbed the Carter Bar and onto Otterburn. Return journey via Rothbury and Wooler and back to Eyemouth. It took Alan 8hrs 12 minutes covering 126.7 miles. The three cyclists raised approximately £1000. Many of The Reekie Group employees sponsored the three cyclist and they thank everyone for their generous contributions.
